Abstract, Still Life, Birds and Floral: Razzle Lorikeet by Julie Lynch

This framed original oil painting is part of my FOR THE BIRDS collection, and it celebrates everything I adore about Australian colour, character, and charm. This rainbow lorikeet isn’t just perched—he’s performing.

With his brilliant blues, fiery oranges, lush greens, and that unmistakable flash of yellow, he bursts from the canvas in full technicolour confidence. I loved leaning into the bold patterns of his feathers, the sculptural quality of the banksia cones, and the dance of stylised leaves that surround him like a vibrant stage.

Every element is pushed just a little further—the clean graphic lines, the rhythmic layering of the foliage, the dramatic contrasts between warm and cool tones. There’s a sense of movement, mischief, and pure visual delight woven through the whole piece.

It treads that playful line between nature and design, bringing a modern, fresh energy to a beloved Australian icon.

A lively, joyful artwork for colour-lovers, bird-lovers, and anyone who wants a burst of happiness on their wall.

Enjoy!
