These are a small, joyful collection of six oil pastel paintings exploring hydrangeas and geraniums in my loose, painterly way.

Three of the works focus on hydrangeas — soft, clustered blooms built up in layers of colour, with little sparks of geraniums tucked in. They’re about that lush, slightly wild garden feeling — nothing too arranged, just abundance and colour sitting together.

The other three are more abstracted geranium pieces — simplified, flattened shapes, bolder colour blocking, and a more graphic feel. Same subject, but pushed further into design and rhythm.

All works are 30 x 30 cm, created with oil pastel on paper mounted to board, and finished with a 3.5 cm painted return, so they sit beautifully on the wall without needing a frame (though they frame well too).

My focus here is colour, texture, and that balance between observation and memory — somewhere between still life and abstraction.
