SURFACE STORIES - JULIE LYNCH & JUSTINE WELLMAN

SHAC GALLERY - October 9 - November 2, 2025

Paintings & ceramics by Julie Lynch and Justine Wellman

Surface Stories brings together the vibrant worlds of artist pals Julie Lynch and Justine Wellman in a joyful celebration of Aussie nature. Think bold blooms, native birds, and dreamy bush scenes—told through paint and clay.

Julie’s lush, expressive paintings burst with colour and personality, while Justine’s hand-crafted ceramics are covered in delicate, nature-inspired illustrations that wrap right around each piece.

Together, their work sings with love for the natural world—two creative voices, perfectly in tune. Every brushstroke and carved line reveals a little story waiting to be discovered.

Come explore the beauty, texture, and playful spirit behind every surface.

THE NEXT BIG THING ART PRIZE

THE TOOWOOMBA GALLERY

I’m delighted to share that I’ve been selected as a finalist for the second time in The Toowoomba Gallery’s Next Big Thing Art Prize.

My 2025 entry, Pale-headed Rosellas and Cornflowers, is a gentle tribute to the native birds of Queensland and the soft, romantic hues of blue cornflowers. I wanted to capture that quiet moment where colour, stillness, and nature meet—something that continues to inspire much of my work.

It’s an honour to be recognised again by The Toowoomba Gallery and to be part of such a vibrant community of artists pushing creative boundaries.

JULY GROUP SHOW - PETITE COLLECTION BY MIA OATLEY

I'm so proud to be part of the July Group Show – Petite Collection curated by the wonderful Mia Oatley, alongside so many talented artists.

For this exhibition, I’ve contributed three of my teacup paintings—small but richly detailed works that celebrate beauty in the everyday. Each piece captures a delicate vintage teacup, carefully observed and lovingly painted, layered with quiet nostalgia and character. These little vessels hold more than tea—they hold memory, ritual, and a sense of time slowed.

It’s a joy to be included in this vibrant collection of petite works, where scale meets intimacy, and every artwork invites a closer look.

Explore the full show online and discover all the thoughtful treasures gathered for this special exhibition.
